For the 60.42 million of the population (92% of French), these four hours are conducive to "internet surfing", going from one page to another. Among the most visited applications and sites, social media is at the top of the basket with 1 hour and 17 minutes on these platforms, whatever the media. Youtube remains the social media of choice with 78% of internet users who use it. Next, are Facebook and Instagram, with 74% and 35% of subscribers. Given these numbers, the marketing possibilities for professionals are endless. Indeed, the potential audience of Instagram advertising, image media and therefore brands, represents 17 million people, mostly young people aged 18 to 34 (25%). Snapchat, though on the decline, can boast of targeting a target audience of 18.50 million people. It's a lot more than Twitter reaching almost 5.5 million people.

This global trend affects nearly 5.112 billion people, representing a gain of 2% (more than 100 million new mobile users) between January 2018 and January 2019. E-commerce is a sector that is gaining capacity on mobile since 26% of Internet users have already made a purchase online via a smartphone. Of the spending categories with the highest expenditures, travel led the way with $28.12 billion. Tourism is also one of the most successful among all categories of e-commerce, with + 10%, after fashion/beauty and furniture.
